Behavior Expectations
Please review these rules with your child often. Talk about each rule, and what it means to follow these rules. The more support of these rules you give at home, the more success your child will have in the classroom!
Rules:
1. Follow directions the first time given.
2. Keep hands, feet,
and objects to yourself.
3. Raise your hand to speak or stand.
4. Walk.
5. Be kind and considerate.

Class DoJo
We will be using a free app called Class DoJo this year. You can download this app at any time to your mobile device. Information stored on this app may also be accessed online. At registration, you will be given a unique assess code to log in to your child's account.
Class DoJo is an interactive way for parents, students, and teachers to track student behavior and progress, make goals for improvement, and to communicate. This app allows parents and teachers to send text messages and pictures easily through out the day. Parents can log on to a student's account at any point in the day and see specifics about the choices that are being made. Both rewards and consequences will be recorded using this app. Class DoJo uses a point system to encourage students to make good choices behaviorally, socially, and academically. It gives me the ability to set class goals, as well as individual student goals. Students take ownership in this as they may choose their own characters to represent their accounts. I hope you find this to be a useful tool this year!

Consequences
In addition to the parental contact through Class DoJo, the following consequences may be used throughout the school day:
1.Time-out at a table or chair in the classroom. The purpose of this consequence is to give the child time to calm down and get ready to rejoin classroom activities. If the unacceptable behavior occurs outside of the classroom, for example in hallways or on the playground, variations of this consequence will be used.
2.Time-out in another teacher’s classroom. This will be used if the unacceptable behavior is not improved by time out in our classroom, or if the child is being disruptive.
3.Note, phone call home, or conference with parent after school. In some cases, this could possibly include individual behavior checklists to be completed daily.
4.Loss of privileges. This includes the loss of some, or all playground time and/or center time.
5.Office referral. This can be used for behaviors that interrupt classroom instruction, threaten or hurt others, or damage school or personal property.
